Removal
NOTE:
Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.

Remove the front seat.
Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Remove the front seat backrest panel.
Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Panel (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Remove the front seat backrest blower motor.
Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Blower Motor (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Disconnect the front seat backrest heater mat electrical connector.

Remove the front seat backrest cover carrier tie straps.
With multi-contour seats
-
NOTE:
After disconnecting the hose and lock
assemblies, verify the black O-ring and white spacer remains with each
hose.
NOTE:
When connecting the hose and lock assemblies, an audible click must be heard for correct installation.
Release the locking tab and disconnect the hose and lock assembly from the SCMG .
All seats

Remove the front seat backrest cover assembly.

Detach the front seat backrest assembly from the backrest module retainers.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Position the front seat backrest assembly to release the retainers.
-
Lift the front seat backrest cover assembly up to release the upper retainer.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
If equipped with heated/ventilated seats.
Detach the front seat backrest carrier from the vent bag.

Release the tabs.
-
Detach the front seat backrest carrier from the vent bag.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Remove the front seat backrest cover hog rings.
-
Detach the front seat backrest cover retainers.
-
NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Release the hook-and-arrows and remove the front seat backrest cover carrier.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the front seat backrest cover.
-
Invert the front seat backrest cover.
-
Remove the front seat backrest cover hog rings.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Use the General Equipment: Hog Ring Plier

Move the front seat to the full upward and forward position...

12 Volt DC Power Point
WARNING: Do not plug optional
electrical accessories into the cigar lighter
socket. Incorrect use of the cigar lighter
can cause damage not covered by the
vehicle warranty, and can result in fire or
serious injury.
Note: When you switch the ignition on, you
can use the socket to power 12 volt
appliances with a maximum current rating
of 15 amps...
