Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

Removal

  1. Remove the battery tray.
  1.   WARNING: When releasing the cooling system pressure, cover the coolant expansion tank cap with a thick cloth.

    Loosen the pressure relief cap.
  1. Disconnect the coolant control valve electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainers.
  1. Detach the coolant hose retainer.
  1. Clamp off the coolant control valve hoses.
    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)
  1. Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses.
    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
  1. Remove the nuts and the transmission fluid heater coolant control valve.
    Torque: 119 lb.in (13.5 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system without using the vacuum cooling system filler.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) – MI4, General Procedures).
