Removal

Passenger seat

  1. Remove the OCS sensor.
    Refer to: Occupant Classification System (OCS) Sensor (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).

Driver seat

  1. Remove the front seat.
    Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).
  1. If equipped with heated/ventilated seats.
    Remove the front seat cushion blower motor.
    Refer to: Front Seat Cushion Blower Motor (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

  1. Release the front seat backrest panel straps.
    1. Detach the side airbag electrical connector.
    1. Release the front seat backrest panel straps.
    1. Detach the front seat electrical connector.
    1. Detach the front seat wiring harness retainers.
    1. Detach the front seat cushion heater mat wiring harness retainer.
    1. Disconnect the front seat cushion heater mat electrical connector.
  1. Detach the front seat cushion cover J-clips.
  1. Remove the front seat side shield screws.

  1. Remove the LH front seat side shield.
    1. Lift up and out, separating the front seat side shield from the recliner bracket.
    1. Slide the front seat side shield forward and separate the front seat side shield from the front seat.

  1. Remove the RH front seat side shield.
    1. Lift up and out, separating the front seat side shield from the recliner bracket.
    1. Slide the front seat side shield forward and separate the front seat side shield from the front seat.
  1. Remove the screws and the front seat valance.

  1. Remove the front seat cushion cover and foam as an assembly.
    1. Detach the front seat cushion cover J-clip.
    1. On both sides.
      Detach the front seat cushion cover J-clips.

All seats

  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Position the rear portion of the seat cushion cover from the foam.
  1. NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat cushion from the hook-and-arrow or the hook may be torn from the seat cushion foam.

    NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat cushion cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat cushion foam.

    NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.


    Remove the front seat cushion cover.
    1. Invert the front seat cushion cover.
    1. Release the hook-and-loop strips.
    1. Release the hook-and-arrows.
    1. Release the hook-and-loop strip.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
