Lincoln Corsair: Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems / Removal and Installation - Hood Latch

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the air cleaner inlet pipe.
    Refer to: Air Cleaner Intake Pipe (303-12B Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 2.3L EcoBoost (199kW/270PS), Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Air Cleaner Intake Pipe (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) – MI4, Removal and Installation).

  1. Remove the hood latch.
    1. If equipped.
      Disconnect the hood ajar switch.
    1. Remove the bolts from the hood latch.
      Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)
    1. Detach the hood release cable from the mounting bracket.
    1. Disconnect the hood latch release cable end and remove the hood latch.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
