Lincoln Corsair: Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) – MI4 / Removal and Installation - Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Outlet Pipe

Removal

NOTICE: The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. When removing any turbocharger or engine air intake system component, ensure that no debris enters the system. Failure to do so may result in damage to the turbocharger.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. Remove the bolts and remove the undershield.
    Torque: 13 lb.in (1.5 Nm)
    • NOTE: Ensure the quick fit connector is fully inserted until the wire clip falls into the groove and gets locked.

      Loosen the clamp and position aside the CAC outlet pipe.
    • Detach quick fit connector and remove the CAC outlet pipe.
    • Detach the hose clip.
    • Disconnect the quick release coupling and position aside the vapor hose.
      Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00C Fuel System - General Information - 2.5L Duratec – Hybrid (121kW/164PS) (BG), General Procedures).
    • Disconnect the MAP sensor connector.
    • Loosen the clamp and remove the CAC outlet pipe.
      Torque: 48 lb.in (5.4 Nm)

Installation

  1. Inspect the turbocharger or engine air intake system components and clean, if necessary.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
