Hydraulic Selectable One-Way Clutch (OWC)

Condition	Possible Sources	Action
Selectable one-way clutch (OWC) does not apply	SSD is mechanically stuck off	INSTALL a new solenoid. REFER to: Solenoid (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission – 8F35/8F40, Removal and Installation).
	Hydraulic selectable one way clutch (OWC) control or limit valve valve stuck off	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the control valve. If the bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission – 8F35/8F40, Removal and Installation). PERFORM the Transmission Strategy Download,REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission – 8F35/8F40, General Procedures).
	SOWC APPLY hydraulic circuit blocked/leaking	DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the main control valve body and separator plate passages for debris/blockage. CLEAN as necessary. REFER to: Main Control Valve Body (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission – 8F35/8F40, Removal and Installation).
	Hydraulic selectable one-way clutch (OWC) actuator	INSPECT the components for wear and damage. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER to: Transmission (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission – 8F35/8F40, Overhaul).
Hydraulic Selectable one-way clutch (OWC) always applied	SSD mechanically stuck	INSTALL a new solenoid. REFER to: Solenoid (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission – 8F35/8F40, Removal and Installation).
	Hydraulic selectable one way clutch (OWC) control or limit valve valve stuck on	DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the control valve. If the bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body.
